The Yacht hosted the important and international LOS ANDES CUP, in 1989, where the men’s team won the title of South American Champion. This Cup, founded by Chilean Eduardo Costabal Zegers in 1942, is the largest amateur golf championship of our continent.

The same happened in 2009, where the women’s team was the runner-up of the Championship.

At that time, the sports director Miguel Figueredo, member of the Club’s Board of Directors, was appointed at a meeting of the Governing Board of the Paraguayan Association of Golf, as the chairman of the organizing committee of the 64th South American Golf Championships, Los Andes Cup Paraguay 2009, main annual regional amateur competition, held at the Yacht & Golf Club Paraguayo, in November 23 to 29. A true sports festival took place in the club, with the arrival of all delegations, the solemn opening ceremony and the subsequent golf game

In 1992, the Yacht organizes the 1st Open of the Republic of Paraguay, where the number 1 in Paraguayan golf, Carlos Franco, won the championship.
